Old Town Kitchen
The kitchen in this narrow Alexandria townhouse was part of a complete overhaul to the home’s design. The new kitchen was limited in size and structure by the positioning of walls and open floor plan. The client wanted the ability to entertain in an updated transitional style. Artisan shaker style doors from Decora in a cherry stain were incorporated with soapstone countertops and a unique abstract tile backsplash at the range. A change in levels was used to designate the kitchen prep area from the bar seating for guests while the client entertained. Frosted glass cabinets keep the space light and open while still hiding the contents of the cabinets. The result is an effortless look that successfully blends the client’s lifestyle with form and functionality.
